World Literature. This week we will wrap up our short story unit with a work by Roald Dahl. Students will examine themes, symbols and characters portrayed in the story. There will be an exam on this final short story on Friday.

We are pleased to invite you to attend our art exhibition on Saturday May 12 in the secondary school hall. We are proud of how our students have matured and developed as individuals as well as designers and artists. The work on show will display the diverse range of skills, talents and techniques, not to mention hard work and dedication.
During this week students will prepare their work for the exhibition.
The students will have an assessment on Tuesday, May 8. There will be a review session on Monday, and all supporting documents can be found attached to this posting (study guide and all lesson plans).
Our next unit will cover the Kennedy and Johnson administrations, the expansion of the Vietnam War, and the radical changes that took place in American society in the 1960s (civil rights movement, hippies).

World Literature. This week we will continue our short story unit with a fantastic piece by Truman Capote called A Tree of Night. We will discuss imagery, tone, themes and settings present in the story and will prepare for a quiz on Friday that will cover last week’s short story The Faithful Bull and this week’s story.

AP Literature and Composition. This week in AP Literature and Composition, students will be continue preparing their portfolio for the quarter project. We will also continue reviewing for the AP exam on Monday and Tuesday.
The exam is on Wednesday, May 9th. On Thursday, students will have the class period to work on their portfolio that is due on Friday, May 11th.

AP Studio Art
Students are completing both parts of the portfolio 11th grade is completing the Breadth part of the portfolio, and 12th grade is completing the Concentration part of the portfolio.
12th grade students must submit their portfolio by Wednesday May 9. The digital portfolio must include 12 breadth art works, 12 concentration art works, and 5 quality art works.
Students must begin to create their digital portfolio by Friday May 4. In order to open their digital portfolio students need to obtain their student codes.
